Frequently Asked Questions

For more information about New Smile Clear Aligners, contact your dentist.

  1. Are New Smile Clear Aligners right for me?
Most people can use our aligners to straighten their teeth. They can be used to close gaps between teeth and align your bite for better oral health. Your dentist can decide if clear aligners are the best choice for you.
  2. How long do I wear the aligners?
You will need to wear the aligners all day and night, only taking them out to eat and brush your teeth. Your dentist will monitor your progress and about every 2 weeks you will move to the next aligner until you reach your new smile. The total treatment can take between 6 weeks to 18 months, depending on the amount of correction required. However, you will begin to see results in as little as 4 weeks.
  3. How do I get New Smile Clear Aligners?
New Smile Clear Aligners are only available from your dentist. If your dentist determines clear aligners will work for you, they will take impressions of your teeth. Then the treatment plan is developed using sophisticated computer software to precisely create each aligner for the desired level of movement.
  4. Will I need to wear a retainer after treatment?
To prevent your teeth from shifting position over time, dentists usually prescribe a retainer after any orthodontic treatment.
  5. How much do New Smile Clear Aligners cost?
Each doctor sets their own fees. The cost to patients is generally comparable to other orthodontic options, depending on the complexity of treatment, your location, and other factors.
  6. Are clear aligners covered by dental insurance?
Many dental insurance plans do offer coverage for orthodontic appliances such as clear aligners. If you meet your insurance company’s eligibility requirements, they may cover a portion of the total treatment cost. Your doctor and insurance company can provide more details.
